Giant Mine Remediation - Water Treatment Plant
Yellowknife, Northwest Territories

As part of the wider remediation project at Giant Mine, Aecon is constructing a new water treatment plant to process arsenic contaminated water from the below-grade mine pools. The project will ensure that water processed through the facility meets the quality requirements set by the Mackenzie Valley Land and Water Board.

Aecon's scope of work includes deep well drilling to access the mine pools, the construction of both raw and treated water pumping and conveyance systems, as well as contaminated soil removal.
