Cree Cultural Centre

Oujé-Bougoumou, Quebec

Aecon, in partnership with the Cree community in Oujé-Bougoumou, Quebec, built the Aanischaaukamikw Cree Cultural Institute. This museum and cultural institute brings together all the cultural programs of the region. The Institute also serves as an archive, library and teaching centre, which will ensure the preservation and transfer of knowledge to future generations. The Institute empowers the Cree to have control over their culture, community and history. In addition, Aecon made a $250,000 contribution to the Aanischaaukamikw Foundation to help support the community’s continued growth and cultural preservation initiatives.
