Toronto, Ontario –November 15, 2006: Aecon Group Inc. (TSX: ARE) announced today that Mike Archambault, Aecon's Vice President of Safety and Insurance has been chosen by the Ontario government to join the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) Board of Directors.
The Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) promotes workplace health and safety, and provides a workers compensation system for the employers and workers of Ontario. The appointment fills a vacant seat on the board and takes affect immediately.

In his role at Aecon, Mr. Archambault is responsible for the development, implementation and administration of all Health and Safety and Insurance matters at Aecon. Additionally he assists the various business units with Labour Relations.
Prior to joining Aecon in 1996, Mr. Archambault worked approximately 20 years with the Ontario Ministry of Labour as a Health and Safety Inspector, Manager and Mediator/Advisor. He holds two professional designations (CRSP and CHRP), and chairs the Workers Compensation Committee for the Council of Construction Associations of Ontario.
