Scott Balfour to resume dual role of President and CFO --

Toronto, Ontario – April 21, 2009:  Aecon Group Inc. ("Aecon") (TSX:ARE) today announced that its President, Scott Balfour, would resume the position of President and CFO following the resignation of Gordon Panas as CFO.

Mr. Balfour had been Aecon’s CFO since he joined the company in 1994, and had held the dual role of President and CFO from 2005 until Mr. Panas joined Aecon as CFO on April 1, 2009.

On April 20, 2009, Mr. Panas resigned his position to accept a similar role with another firm in the industry. 

“We wish Gordon the best,” Mr. Balfour said. “During his years at Lockerbie, we developed a strong relationship, and I look forward to continuing that relationship in his new role.”
